Michael Garatoni
ATTORNEY
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, attorney Michael Garatoni received
his undergraduate degree from Trinity University before later completing
his Doctor of Jurisprudence at University of Houston Law Center in Houston,
Texas. During law school Michael clerked at the Consumer Protection Division
of the Texas Attorney General’s Office and interned with the Texas
Fourth Court of Appeals. After law school but before working in personal
injury, Michael assisted a team of attorneys and industry experts at a
compliance consulting firm, advising client investment advisers on all
matters related to the advisers’ ongoing compliance, from registration
with the appropriate regulatory authority to fulfillment of the advisers’
obligations under the Advisers Act and related rules. Motivated by strong
since of justice and desire to help others, Michael draws on his broad
range of experience in order to best represent his clients’ interests.
Apart from his education and work experience, Michael has marked strengths in the most critical aspects of litigation— research and writing— for which he has consistently received recognition at each level of his education and throughout his career: In 2016 he contributed a case note to Volume 16 of the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy, and as a student at Trinity University, he published research in the area of meaning and welfare.
Outside of the office, Michael is an avid fan of Spurs basketball and a lover of games, especially Backgammon, Cribbage, Bonanza, and Dominion.
